My changing thinking:
My Journey Map

student inquiry > set plan
During the fellowship, my understanding of how to share works of art with students drastically shifted from a teacher directed perspective to a student centered one. Learning about VTS made a huge impact on how I approach sharing works of art with students and had an overwhelmingly positive effect on classroom engagement for both my visual art and art history classes. Sharing VTS with staff at my school and hearing how the impact of what I learned in classrooms around the school was as highlight of this year.
After: Students need to explore work by making personal connections and developing individualized interpretations.
In this lesson I use learning from the fellowship to facilitate the study artworks related to the theme of technology in my beginning HS class, in preparation for art-making.
Before: Students need to know important information about works of art.
