A weekly guide to Illuminate your Life
A Note from Katie
Hi everyone, I hope that you have had a good weekend. While we seem to continue to the energetic roller coaster we have been on, life is settling a bit. I feel like July will tell us a lot about how we are all going to move forward financially and emotionally.
I am calling this week's magazine the "Resilient You" edition because resiliency is our greatest gift right now. We are learning a lot about the way we cope with stress and challenges. We should all come out of 2020 with a strong sense of self and resiliency.
Please join me on June 30th at 11:00 AM Pacific for the "Katie Weaver Show" on 12Radio. I will be live streaming in the 12Radio Chat Room on Facebook. Learn more about me at www.katie-weaver.com.
My Musings, Mostly for Me
Sometimes for you
I have thought for years that The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz, is a perfect guide for empaths. Today on the Katie Weaver Show, we will talk about it!

It’s July 2020 and it is time to present this month’s “Animal Guidance”. Keep the wisdom of this animal guide in your thoughts and assimilate it into each day.
Fossils of geese reveal that there are many species of ‘true’ geese that are 10 million years old. The term goose is the female; gander is the male; goslings are the young before fledging (ready for flight); a gaggle is a group on the ground; a flying group is a team, skein, or a wedge; and a close flying group is a plump. Many geese species are migratory with highly instinctive navigation skills. The most famous of geese species that migrate are the Canada goose. When migrating, young geese are escorted by a small contingent of adults that protect and aid in imprinting the migratory routes on the young, stopping more often than an adult wedge in order for the young to rest and feed more often. Geese are able to sense when their brethren are in trouble and communicate warnings. Their honking also communicates landing sites.
Gander is here this month to tell us that this July is pivotal for 2020. He is honking and nipping at our heels, pushing us to constantly be aware of our many thoughts. He is adamant we keep a great many of our thoughts in line with acknowledging our heart to mind and our heart to soul harmony. In living our day Gander is telling us we need to rest in quiet more often. Use these rest times to reflect on our inner self and current beliefs to better navigate the origins of our attachments, fears, and self imposed limits that cause the confusion in our minds. We can intuitively seek the ancient knowledge of the sage, finding truth and focus on this journey of love and compassion.
Gander instills confidence and determination in his young and working as a team he can help us expand the same qualities in our lives. Be full of beneficial purpose and find bravery. He wants us to protect our valuable young, family and community. Remember those who have helped us in the past and express gratitude.
Gander considers this July in our human life as a month that it is necessary to follow the path of the hero’s quest and accept the sudden changes in the days ahead. Gander forever pushes us to follow our instincts in these times.
Take the time to honor Yourself for who you are and who you are becoming; also honor Gander for his messages and guidance.

Magical Messages for the week of June 29th
Tool cards for the week
1. What to expect or focus on
Tarot card: Seven of Wands
*Wands represent inspiration and creativity. They relate to our ambitions, goals and dreams. They mark the beginning of all ventures within the mind and spirit.* The Seven of Wands represents Courage and Inner Strength. That is what you can expect this week. It is time to let that inner courage and strength shine since the last few weeks have been about going within and finding peace. Now the sun is out and it is time to face the world – but in the way you want! You make your reality. As you see in the picture, a single wand stands tall with a bright flame. That flame makes the other wands fall away in shadow. You will not find strength or support from anyone other than yourself. Better yet, it will not resonate from anyone except yourself. Others may try to offer support, but your own intuition and strength will feel much better than that of what another could give you. Be courageous when standing up for what you believe matters. Your internal fire will guide the way.
2. What to embrace
Tarot card: Ace of Wands
Yes…the theme for this week is already apparent – change is coming….or continuing, but you are to embrace your own inspiration and creativity with the wands that are arising. The Ace of wands represents Expansion along with inspiration. This is a high energy card! It is a sign that there is new growth all around you. Creativity and ideas can seem endless – even keep you up at night because there is so much that is what I call “being downloaded” into your mind that you want to accomplish or get to work on. It is in the air. Take head, as trying to work on too many things at once will bring anxiety. Take things one day at a time. Use good judgement and now is not the time to rush anything. Let is all flow.
3. What to bring
Tarot card: The Empress (major Arcana card)
More here on creation! And this is a major Arcana card…which means that this card should stand out above all of the rest! This card’s subtitle is “Creation, Nature, The Mother”. The empress is the mother or the goddess of the tarot. I actually drew this card as my theme for 2020 when I did my yearly forecast. It has played out to be true, mainly to myself. To elaborate, this was the first year that I no longer relied on anyone other than myself. I became my own goddess…mother…strength…whatever word resonates there. During isolation, I had to find the inner part of myself that could manage all things through love and light….no longer in fear. I would have died in that reality. And that is just it! You get to choose your reality – I cannot say that enough. You can choose to be a part of the ever evolving world around us and if you are stuck in hopelessness and despair because of COVID, Riots, and all the other world events, let me tell you…..this side of the grass is amazing! I am not choosing to ignore it. I just know that I am doing the best I can and that is all I can control. I also don’t obsess over it anymore. I go about my business with CREATIVITY! That could be as simple as working in your garden, art, even cooking. Make something. Create. Find your own inner goddess (even if you are male, tap into that female energy of creation and go for it). Leave behind the fear. How is it really servicing you? As always, the empress says that it is time for you to reconnect with nature. Go outside tonight and find the moon!
4. What to leave behind
Tarot card: Nine of Swords
This card represents dark visions and anguish. It is all that you need to let go of to make way for The Empress and the courage and creativity that is trying to come through. This card symbolizes the deepest shadows of the self. It can mean that you are having insomnia, nightmares and worries in the midnight hour…the twilight of the night. When you are in this state, you are filled with guilt, despair, or even depression. The uplifting news here and the way out is to realize that you are battling yourself. Not anything more. So when you accept that, you can lay down the crumbling, dull sword. If you feel that this is hard to stop doing, reach out to your tribe – those who care. Don’t look for courage through them, just look for some reassurance that it is ok to be happy. But I am here to tell you, it is ok. And that was a battle that I fought for many, many years with no one BUT myself. I finally laid that sword down and watched it turn to ash and blow away in the wind. I didn’t need it. There was nothing there to fight to begin with. So leave it behind. All of it.
Color Card: Scarlet
“Attract Success”. Use this card to help you attract all things in success this week. Scarlet is a color associated with passion and vitality that is known for it’s power, strength and dynamism. It stands out and demands attention. It is a color of victory! When used as a tool to help you, it can allow you to confidently achieve your dreams. Realize them with this use of this tool card this week. Every time you look at the color Scarlet, be reminded of what it is that you would like to succeed!
Chakra Card: Sacral Chakra
Gland: Testicles and Ovaries
Key Words: “I want”
Located two fingers below your navel and relates to emotions, desires, creativity and sexuality. Movement is what keeps this Chakra balanced. You will most likely want to keep it balanced this week as it will be a great asset and help everything flow and release much easier. You will also embrace your successes and victories far more easily if this chakra is flowing natural. Express your sexuality and nurture yourself; and remember, you DO matter and you are loved!
Spirit Animal Card: Elk
I love love love the Elk. Maybe it is because I grew up just on the other side of the mountain of Jackson Hole Wyoming, so anytime I see Elk, I feel peace and calmness – the ultimate feeling in nature. The Elk is an Earth spirit animal. *The Earth element is the suit of survival and instinct. The creatures under this suit represent our relationships with fears and habits. In general, the creatures of this suit are grounded Dependable and supportive*. The Elk is just that. He is stable, resilient, headstrong and The Father. It represents the Earth element in it’s masculine form. What a great tool card when The Empress card (our major arcana card for the week) holds so much feminine energy. This will bring balance. The Elk provides underlying support and stability amidst life’s many changes. The Elk knowns it’s core values and wants to help you as you accept them into your new reality. Elk spirits make good parents, lovers, friends, collogues….the world needs more elk energy.
To work with this card: eat and drink more consciously

Well this week there are a couple of things to discuss, but the big focus is the Lunar Eclipse on Saturday, July 4th (late the 4th and very early the 5th in some places). This Full Moon is in Capricorn, opposite the Sun in Cancer. This lunation asks us about how we can have the harmonious home life we all crave, shedding light on the tension between nurturing ourselves and our responsibility to others.
One way of looking at this (archetypally and admittedly gender normatively) is the difference between how a mother tends to her family and how a father tends to his family. Do success and money bring ease and joy, or do ease and joy help manifest money and abundance?
This eclipse is also an emotional reset. This moon opposes Mercury, which means expressing your feelings is important during this time. The trouble may be that Mercury is also retrograde, so accessing and making sense of those feelings could be a little more difficult than usual.
To help gather your thoughts about this, consider that this set of eclipses began in July of 2018. Where were you, what was happening, what were you trying to achieve? As I typed the above I was a little gobstopped and paused to chuckle.
I met Patrick in the summer of 2018 (we met online in May, and in-person in August.) In July we were feverishly anticipating that meeting, and how our relationship would progress. We’ve been together ever since, even though he works overseas. This Spring he came home for vacation as he does every few months, and got stuck here because of COVID. Figuring we’d take advantage of our time together and not knowing when he’d have to return, we got married in June! So we officially enter a new phase of our relationship now! (2020 also gave me the balls to finally quit a job that I hated for 7 years!)
Eclipses come in pairs and repeat in patterns. About every 10 years you’ll see the same sign pairing and every 19 years you’ll see exact degree repetition. We had Cancer/Capricorn eclipses in 2000/2001, and again in 2009/2010. This year’s 2020 eclipses match sign and degree to the 2001 eclipses almost exactly. (in 2001 I landed an amazing job. In 2009 I lost that job. In 2010 I left my marriage. In 2020 I quit a long term job and re-married...whoa!)
Hindsight is 20/20. And 2020 is fucking crazy. So it's nearly impossible to truly predict what will come of these events. I did not anticipate any of the above! But what is clear is that Eclipses set things in motion at a much faster pace, and they bring closure, culmination, and new beginnings. Sure, beginnings come from endings. But rather than look at that as always negative, which we all tend to, think of this...My single life and corporate slavery both end, so I can begin a marriage and self-employment! That doesn’t suck. And truly neither do any of the changes happening for you. Life is happening FOR you, not TO you. Admittedly that’s very hard to see sometimes!
June 30 - Jupiter conjunct Pluto (both retrograde) - Overcoming challenges and obstacles. Our inner badass comes to play. Drive to pursue our passions (Happened on 4/4 and will happen again on 11/12)
June 30 - Sun Conjunct Mercury - strong mental energy and focus
June 30 - Mercury sextile Uranus - flashes of insight and genius
July 1 – Sun sextile Uranus - exciting encounters
July 4/5 – Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn - Emotions Vs. Responsibilities
ARIES - It feels like a lot of your focus will be on your public image, which may or may not be a part of your career path (It could be that your image becomes more public as a result of your partner’s career path). You might be craving physical adventure and intellectual electricity. Who am I to tell an Aries no? Not this Bitch...go for it!
TAURUS - Experience and intimacy are on the menu for you now. And honestly, isn’t that every day for a Taurus? You will be craving extra depth of conversation, and maybe some adventure or exciting experience. If you need guidance, think about taking a class for something totally new, by yourself or with a partner (Tantra comes to mind….)
GEMINI - To be honest, we both know you are not particularly famous for your long term relationships, or your ability to form deep, profound bonds. But this week you may be craving all of that, and it may confuse you a bit. Vulnerability is key, even if it’s just with yourself.
CANCER - Tell the kids to go play in the yard, because you may want some playtime with your significant other. Truth is, you may join the kids because fun is what’s on the agenda. Creativity, connection, romance...all of that is up for grabs this week. Make sure you are able to receive joy as well as you provide it...
LEO - Take yourself for a walk. Get outside. Jump around. Start a new fitness plan or set a new goal for daily movement. You will need to adjust your schedule to make time for this, so don’t allow yourself to look at your calendar and say “Nope, I just can’t!” because we both know you are creative enough to figure this out.
VIRGO - Creativity, art, and connecting with others through play are things you’d benefit from pursuing this week. Don’t be surprised when you look at your daily schedule in your color-coded organizer and feel like saying “fuck it”. Lean into that and go dancing!
LIBRA - Your daydreams of making money via a passion project are not just silly. Allow yourself to really envision a successful life where you do something you really love. You might even consider doing this project with your significant other. At the very least, share it with them. What you allow yourself to dream about right now can make its way into your reality in the future.
SCORPIO - Allow yourself to get a little lost in a fantasy that is actually quite possible. Lean into your romantic side and create some magic for yourself and your family this week. Some minor family hiccups could crop up, but don’t bury your head. Instead, speak from your heart and things will heal much faster.
SAGITTARIUS - It’s fair to say that you always put your heart into your work. This week you could feel especially emotionally connected to your daily tasks. Your fire to achieve is stoked and your bottom line will benefit. Follow your joy to the bank!
CAPRICORN - Your passion could get a turbo boost this week and next! Your vision suddenly feels more in reach and your focus is on point. Follow your gut and lean into your deep inner knowing to learn your next steps. Your hard work in the last few years may finally show real fruit!
AQUARIUS - Your brilliant imagination could be the key to the financial success you’ve had your eye on for a while. It might be tempting to map out the course, but currently, your energy is better served by simply envisioning the reality you want. You may feel kind of worn out this week anyway, so rest, reflection, meditation, and manifesting are your medicines!
PISCES - Your week is likely to be filled with your people. Connections of all kinds are available to help you find success. The support of your tribe builds your confidence and you’ll be a force of nature as you move ahead on your path.

Learning to Take Responsibility
Often when we begin on the path of personal development or spiritual growth, we start to look at the behaviours that we have been practising to this point.
We begin to see that our behaviours have caused us issues in our relationships with friends and family, and we gradually learn that we need to alter the way we are around others and with ourselves.
One of the most important lessons to come to terms with is the one which enables us to see that we are not the victim of some intricate, complicated conspiracy theory. The world is not designed to hurt you or harass you, and you are in fact a part of a much bigger whole.
Many people begin the journey feeling hard done to or picked on by the universe. When it rains, it is solely to spoil their day. When they do not get their own way, they chant in unison "It's not fair". When they get stopped by the police because they were speeding, it is bad luck that they got caught.
Learning to take responsibility entails also learning that life happens. It rains. Earthquakes happen. Cars crash. Fires start. People die. Life is not a conspiracy to inconvenience you, or to prevent you from having what you want. It is however, a constantly changing, dynamic series of events and occurrences that would carry on regardless of whether or not you were there.
Taking responsibility for your actions also involves a certain amount of growing up. Instead of thinking that it was bad luck that you got pulled over by the police, accept that you are responsible for driving within the speed limit, and that at the time you were caught, you were driving too fast.
Learning not to take life so personally and to see that events simply occur enables you to begin to understand that the event has no emotional charge, it is just raining, for example. Life just happens, and we react to it in our own way. It is not some convoluted attempt to make you miserable, it is just a canvas onto which we paint our lives. Choose not to see it as a personal affront, and life will become a lot more comfortable.
Taking responsibility for our reaction to life and also for our actions can be difficult to begin with, but as you begin to witness the way you respond to events, you can begin to become more aware of the part you play in the grand orchestra of life, and all that this entails.
Thank you for reading,
have a wonderful week!
