National Parks in the USA
1. Yosemite National Park
This park is situated in California on the west side ofthe Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s known mostly for granitic cliffs, waterfalls, clear and clean streams and sequoias. Yosemite is visited by 3 million people annually.

There are about 59 national parks In the USA. Every each of them is different because of the diversified climate in the USA. You can see glaciers, volcanoes, rainforests, mountains, oceans and more. We can certainly say that everyone can find something interesting for themselves.
There are about 160 endangered species that live in this park.
2. Acadia National Park
Acadia National Park is placed in Maine mostly on Mount Desert Island. It is the only national park in that state. It is known for wild nature and lighthouses. You can see there seals, whales, walruses and others species that live in water.
3. Channel Islands National Park
It’s on the west side of California. It includes 5 of 8 islands archipelago of Channel Islands: San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Anacapa, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz. You can see there a lot of species like the bald eagle, golden eagle and more.
4. Grand Canyon National Park
It’s probably one of the most famous places in the USA. It is located in Arizona. It features Grand Canyon and a gorge of Colorado River. It’s popular for its views and hiking. It’s one of oldest national parks in the USA. There are about 385 species of animals.
5. Denali National Park
It’s placed in Alaska next to Denali (McKinley) the highest mountain in North America. It’shome for taiga, tundra and snow on the highest elevations. There are a lot of glaciers, the longest glacier is the Kahiltna Glacier. It’s known for wintertime activities like skiing, snowboarding, and dog-sledding.
6. Kenai Fjords National Park
It is located in the southern part of Alaska. There is the Harding Icefield, one of the largest ice fields in the USA. Most of the views are glaciated landscapes. There are big wolf packs, brown bears, Alaskan moose, mountain goats and more.
7. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
This National Park is located in Hawaii. It has two active volcanoes. One of them is named Kīlauea and it's one of the most active volcanoes in the world, and another is called Mauna Loa it's the most massive shield volcano in the world. It offers unusual hiking and camping for visitors.
8. Olimpic National Park
It's located in Washington. The park is divided into four different regions: The Pacific coastline, alpine areas, the west side rainforest and Olimpic mountains. We can see there species like beaver, coyote, muskrat,wolf, raccoon, humpback whale and a lot more.
9. Arches National Park
This park is in eastern Utah. There is over 2,000 natural sandstone arches and world-famous Delicate Arch.There are species likeantelope squirrel, scrub jay, peregrine falcon, many kinds of sparrows, red fox.
10. Glacier National park
It is located in Montana. It’s called Glacier National Park for a reason it has several dozen glaciers. There are waterfalls, over 100 glacial lakes and over 1000 species of plants and animals. This park is example of the global warming. Scientists have said that until 2030 there won’t be any glacier in this park.
11. Yellowstone National Park
This park is located in three states; Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. It’s the oldest park in the USA. It’s famous for Old Faithful geyser and dazzling views that are breathtaking. There are mud volcanoes, hot fountains and waterfalls. It was home to native Americans for about 11 thousand years. It has a lot of various species of animals and plants.
Tolkien was born on 3 January in 1892 in Orange Free State (South Africa) and died on 2 September 1973 in Great Britain. When he was 1 year old, a giant tarantula bit him and this affected his creations- we can read about huge spiders in his book-The Hobbit or There and Back Again. When he was 3 years old, he moved from South Africa to Birmingham. Tolkien was attending King Edward’s School and Oxford University. He married Edith Bratt and had 4 children with her. During the World War I, he joined Lancashire Battalion and took part in the of Somma- one of the bloodiest battles of this war. He also lost some of his friends. He got The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire- the highest state decoration.
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was a professor of German, English and Old English philology on Oxford University and a poet. He was an expert on fairy tales, legends and myths. His works are academic publications, poems, novels and fantasy books. Many of them were published after his death. On March 25, The Tolkien Society organizes the Tolkien Reading Day. He knew over 30 languages and he made one on his own- the Elvish language.

Tolkien also wrote for exampleFarmer Giles of Ham(Rudy Dżil i jego pies), which tells a story of a farmer Giles who kills the dragon and becomes the king of Ham city.Leaf by Niggle(Liść, dzieło Niggle’a) is about artist who paints a huge tree in the middle of the forest and each leafis unique and shows his visions.Smith of Wootton Major(Kowal z Podlesia Większego) was an attemp to explain the worldfaeriewith a short story about the cook and his cake.
