Still Accepting Applications!
Greetings RMC alumni and friends,
Easter Blessings to you and your loved ones and Happy Spring! I hope you have been enjoying the warmer weather and longer days!
It's hard to believe, as I write, there are just three short months left to the RMC year! We are looking forward to our final RMC Day the beginning of this month and our June retreat. Please keep Jackie in your thoughts and prayers during this time of reflection and preparation for the end of the year.
It's never an easy task saying goodbye to the volunteers. Their presence is such a gift and although their absence is felt there is much joy and gratitude in knowing they are still a part of the Redeemer Family and continue to carry with them the gifts received during their RMC year.
I hope you will enjoy this issue of RMC Reflections in hearing from past RMC's and what they have been up to since completing their time with RMC.
Wishing you and your families peace and blessings!
We are still accepting applications for the Redeemer Ministry Corps program as well as for our 3-week Summer Garden Internship. Help us spread the word by inviting someone you know who might be a good fit to apply or share these opportunities through your social media accounts. Thank you in advance for your help!

Life After RMC
Emily Guilbert, 2016-17
My life has been pretty busy since I transitioned out of my position at RMC in the summer of 2017! Following the end of my RMC year, I worked for a year in a biopharmaceutical company near my hometown of Roswell, Georgia and traveled all over the country for work. I was also able to take courses, apply for graduate school, and accept an offer to attend the University of Alabama Birmingham’s Genetic Counseling Training Program! In August, I will be moving to Portland, Oregon to begin my clinical training for my degree.
In general, life hasn’t stopped moving for me since I finished my volunteer year with RMC. This eventful time in my life reminds me daily of how grateful I am to have participated in this volunteer program which incorporated so many opportunities for me to take time to reflect and center myself through community prayer services and retreats. I continue to look back fondly on my time with Holy Redeemer Health Care and the Sisters as a formative time where I was able to live simply and for others.
Returning Home to Germany
Regina Scheller, 2017-2018
My last days at the Sisters were full of goodbyes and things to pack ..., when I arrived back home I threw myself into "work"...
I had to write applications, going to interviews...that was good, because it kept me busy. I am working as a kindergarten teacher.
I was also looking forward to meeting the Sisters and friends for the Beatification, in September. So some goodbyes in July were not too hard:) It was nice spending time with the Sisters in my Hometown, also our trip to the Beatification was great. I felt so close to everybody on this day. I was also very honored that I was invited to an event like that.
I'm still in touch with some residents from the Manor. I didn't expect to grow such deep relationships with the residents.
In March 2019, I was able to invite Sr. Anne Marie, Ellen and Ana, to my home in Germany, since the Motherhouse is so close.
And in April I had a great time with my former supervisor in Madrid! I was very glad meeting her there:)
I miss the community nights on Wednesday. There was always fun and great food!

Former RMC's, Emily Guilbert '16-'17 and Regina Scheller '17-'18 share about life post-RMC.
Students from Michigan State University joined us the week of March 3 for their Alternative Spring Break. One student shared, "This experience as a whole was life-changing and refreshing. I saw God in so many people and felt his love from others.” You can view and read more about their week with us here.
On March 19, the Sisters celebrated 95 years in North America. The first 12 Sisters and two of their superiors courageously left their home in Germany on March 6, 1924 and arrived to Ellis Island on March 19, the feast of St. Joseph who is also a major patron saint of the Congregation.
Sisters Anne Marie, Ana, and Ellen traveled to Germany on March 29 for a Pre-General Chapter Meeting in Würzburg. While there, they visited with RMC alumni and enjoyed dinner with RMC alum, Regina (2017-18) (pictured right).

We had a great turnout for the annual Walk Against Hunger at Lincoln Financial Field on April 27. Team Dru Crew helped to raise funds to support the mission of the Green Light Food Pantry at Drueding Center!
Congratulations to Jennifer Hampton-Montavon (1995-1996) and her husband, Jim who will be celebrating their 20th wedding Anniversary this summer! Jim is a former campus minister at Rhode Island College, and they actually met at the Provincialate when he brought a group of his students down to work with the Sisters for an alternative spring break trip. They have two children, Maya (14) and Andrew (12). Jennifer recently left her private practice to join the Primary Care department of the Dayton VA Medical Center. Jim is now a school Social Worker. "I am so thankful to the Sisters and RMC for having inspired me and helping me grow in my faith, life, career, and family!"
